CSI Safe Course
Completed
CSI Safe - Intermediate Level
Course Description:
This course offers an in-depth exploration of structural foundation and slab system design using CSI SAFE, a specialized tool for modeling, analysis, and design of reinforced concrete slabs and footings. Aimed at learners with basic structural knowledge, the course builds on foundational concepts to tackle more complex real-world scenarios.
Participants will learn how to model mat foundations, isolated footings, and slabs, define load cases and combinations, analyze structural behavior, and perform reinforcement detailing. The course also covers soil-structure interaction basics and introduces key design features for safe, code-compliant outputs.
By the end of this course, participants will be able to confidently develop and analyze structural foundation models using industry best practices.
Key Topics:
- Overview of the SAFE interface and project workflow
- Modeling of slab systems and foundations (raft, mat, isolated footings)
- Load application, combinations, and load tracing
- Analysis interpretation: displacements, punching shear, soil pressure
- Reinforcement detailing and design output
- Code checks and report generation
- Introduction to soil-structure interaction basics
Who Should Enroll:
- Civil and Structural Engineers
- Engineering Students with foundational knowledge
- Professionals aiming to advance their foundation design skills
Prerequisites:
Basic knowledge of structural design and prior exposure to structural modeling tools (such as ETABS or AutoCAD). Familiarity with concrete behavior and foundation principles is recommended.
